2008 Subaru Impreza WRC Concept
The 2008 Subaru Impreza train wreck continues with the concept for next year’s WRC race car, set to debut next month at the Frankfurt Auto Show. The biggest difference from the current model is the change to the hatchback body style instead of the sedan, lending further weight to the rumor that the new domestic STi will also have five doors. However, Subaru is only going along with the current WRC trend to use a hatchback chassis for their rally machine, exemplified by the currently dominating Ford Focus and Citroën C4. After a quick look back at Petter Solberg’s Championship winning 2003 car to remember the good old days, it’s worth noting that nobody will care how ugly the car looks if it starts winning races for Subaru again.
